Have some downtime this summer? Now’s the time to refresh your home.

1)  Make quick, easy aesthetic updates. You would be amazed how swapping out an old area rug for an updated one, adding a duvet cover to the bed, painting or wallpapering one wall of a room, updating a piece of furniture, adding vibrant or textured pillow covers to bed or sofa pillows, or bringing in artificial plants to your spaces, will make you feel. Gives the home new energy!

2) Declutter with purpose. Simple life changes can throw your routines off, and next thing you know, you feel stressed and dysfunctional. Decluttering the areas that cause the most anxiety and angst will result in immediate relief; and typically motivates you to clear additional areas of your home. Take 20 minutes to toss trash and put everything else where it belongs.

3) Tap into your senses. Bring new scents into your home by changing out or adding new candles, diffusers, wall plugs, or incense in fresh summer scents.

4) Make your home functional by utilizing your vertical or underneath space. Adding an over the door organizer for spices, shoes, or supplies will increase storage capacity while clearing off counters or floors. Adding under the sink turntables for beauty items will clear bathroom counters. Placing storage bags under the bed for out-of-season shoes or clothing will instantly refresh your closet. And place decorative wall hooks at entry/exit points to clear floors of bags and jackets.

Ultimately, you should always remember how you want your home to feel. Refreshing your home renews the energy and restores function. These simple changes make it easy to relax and connect to what brings you joy.
